Georgian manor and cottages in a North Devon valley. Luxury stay with indoor pool, play area, and animals. Coulscott House: 15 guests, 5-star gold, library & snug, superking & 2 x king-size bedrooms with en-suites, 4 x twin rooms, 1 single room, family bathroom, private terrace, hot tub, games room
Coulscott House presents a rich tapestry of enjoyable activities within its opulent period surroundings, radiating an air of luxurious comfort. From chandeliers and picture rails to feature fireplaces, intricate cornices, and substantial baseboards, every detail sets a charming stage. However, this residence is all about inclusivity. Evenings can be spent in the warmly illuminated living room, gathering around the impressive 50” TV. Indulge in a TV series marathon, explore a vast movie collection, or savour live sports. Alternatively, lose yourself in the extensive book collection while lounging on the welcoming sofas. For a change of ambiance, retreat to the snug or the secondary lounge, discreetly accessible through a hidden bookcase door, adding a touch of Agatha Christie intrigue to your stay. Children will be captivated by the endless hours of fun offered by the heated indoor swimming pool. A plethora of diversions awaits, including an indoor soft play zone, an outdoor pirate ship-themed play area, miniature football, croquet, cricket, badminton, a trampoline, and a game room equipped with table tennis. All these indulgences leave grown-ups with ample opportunities to relax in the inviting hot tub, explore woodlands with meadows, streams, and ponds, cosy up by the log burner, and enjoy timeless movies on streaming platforms like Netflix and Prime. Arrange for on-site yoga or a rejuvenating massage session, exchange whimsical tales around the evening firepit, while a private chef creates your dinner—accompanied by the flow of Prosecco. Both kitchens are spacious, well-lit, and airy, boasting dual range cookers, an induction cooktop, and range hobs for preparing exquisite meals sourced from the Harbour Deli. Casual grazing can be enjoyed at the kitchen island's high stools or opt for a gathering in the refined dining room. After your meal, entrust the dishwashing to the two dishwashers. Dining alfresco on the terrace allows you to relish the salty sea air. Alternatively, summon our adept chef for a range of dining experiences, from a buffet to a 7-course tasting menu, and bask under the sun's warm embrace. We ask guests for a security deposit, pre-authorised against your credit card of £750.00. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released after your stay if there is no damage. The owner will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.

The region
+ MoreCoulscott enjoys an ideal location in the picturesque Devonshire countryside, offering breath-taking views over a privately owned valley within Exmoor's Heritage Coast. While it might be difficult to depart from Coulscott's charm, there's a wealth of nearby attractions and activi...ties to explore. Our luxurious cottages offer convenient access to the dramatic North Devon coastline, which includes the highest cliffs in England and reputedly the nation's finest beach. Additionally, the region's renowned landmarks and stunning natural landscapes are all within easy reach.
Discover nearby pubs, like the renowned The Pyne Arms, where you can savor moules marinieres or a charcuterie platter. Alternatively, head to The Pack O’ Cards for a classic carvery experience. Treat yourself to the exceptional culinary offerings at Kentisbury Grange, where locally inspired seasonal dishes await. Or, for a delightful snack, relish clotted-cream scones from The Galleon Café or enjoy fresh fish and chips from The Black and Whites.
Apart from all of the glorious beaches, there are also family friendly things to do, including a visit to Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park, Watermouth castle, horse riding, coasteering, surfing, sea safari's and so much more!
Just a mile away, the closest beach to us is the tranquil Combe Martin bay, ideal for kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and it's a favourite spot for seals and dolphins, providing a memorable water sports experience. During high tide, the beach features pebbly sand, but as the tide recedes, it unveils a sandy shoreline and some of the finest rock pools along the entire coast! You can rent boards and kayaks in the village from Surf Side, a business consistently recognized with a certificate of excellence by TripAdvisor. They also organize guided kayaking tours for your enjoyment. With a number of beaches in between, we are conveniently situated just a short twenty-minute drive from what has been acclaimed as the "Best Beach in Britain." Not only did Woolacombe Beach secure the 13th spot on the global list, surpassing renowned coastlines in Turkey, Florida, and Costa Rica, but it also ranked fourth in Europe and claimed the number one position in the UK! A recent review perfectly captured the essence of Woolacombe, describing it as "Three miles of heaven.
