Step-a-Side in Minehead (Somerset) is a charming and characterful, thatched country cottage, suitable for up to 2 guests, tucked away on the Chrurch Steps in the 'old town'. Close to amenities in the town as well as the coast and with Exmoor on the doorstep too! Pets welcome.
Step-a-Side enjoys an elevated position as part of the historical Church Steps. Situated in the Higher Town region of Minehead, the lovely seaside destination on the West Somerset coastline. Step a Side is a traditional, thatched, one-bedroom cottage, with commanding views across the countryside - ideal for a romantic break, or a lovely base for soaking in the fresh Exmoor air. Once you have marvelled at the picture-perfect thatched exterior, head inside straight into the charming sitting room, offering a classic cottage style with an electric stove-effect fire set before the sofa and armchair. Step down into the kitchen/diner where you can enjoy breakfast at the table and rustle up some home-cooked meals. You can look forward to retiring to the double bedroom at the end of the day, featuring exposed beams and an original decorative fireplace, with the bathroom across the hall comprising a bath with a shower over. Step-a-side is just a short walk from the shops and pubs of Minehead.

The Cottage has a bench seat just outside the front door for guests to sit on and admire the view. There also planters with lavender and a pretty flower bed under the kitchen window with a Camelia bush and assorted flowering plants. The view of Grabbist Hill from the bedroom is spectacular.

It's also the terminus for West Somerset Railway, the longest heritage railway in Britain. Exmoor is often referred to as England's best kept secret, it's a wonderful holiday destination for anyone looking for a holiday in the great outdoors! There's so much to see and do, from short walks to long expeditions across the moors or horse riding, taking in a safari or sight-seeing at your own pace around the 'picture postcard' villages and hamlets.
Minehead has avgreat variety of food & drink places. From the traditional fish & chips from Seaview Chippy & Dana's, on the seafront to Chinese at Ziangs, Indian at Alcombe Tandoori. A great day time find is Passionalli ( Holloway Street) serving homemade Italian cuisine. For a late night drink head for The Old Ship Aground (on the Quay) or the lively Bar 21, Hairy Dog or the Wellington bar. (all in the High Street) Minehead has three supermarkets Tesco, Lidl & Morrisons with petrol available at Tesco & Morrisons

Minehead is a great base for walking. From the cottage there are several trails past the church on to North Hill. There are also, great walks from Selworthy, Allerford and Dunster. A range of walks are provided in the cottage for guests to use. Great beaches are available at Minehead, Dunster and along the coast towards Lynton & Lynmouth.
