Harbour House is situated right next to the harbour at Porlock Weir, it used to be the old Harbour Master's house and has amazing views from 3 sides! Its new owners have quickly improved this unique holiday property, tastefully updating it but keeping its quaintness, character and charm.
Harbour House Apartment is divided between two levels; on the first floor there is an open plan kitchen and dining area, a separate toilet, a separate sitting room with French windows leading onto a balcony overlooking the harbour. The two bedrooms are located on the second floor - one double and one twin room and a refurbished family bathroom with shower. Appliances and equipment Harbour House kitchen is fitted with fridge-freezer (the freezer has three drawers), microwave, electric oven and hob. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses as well as hair dryer, iron and ironing board. A new Smart television (connected to our wifi) is set up and ready for you to watch Freeview or log into your own Neflix, Youtube or other App accounts (use and viewing is from your own account/s and at your own pay-per-view cost/s). Good wireless broadband is available throughout the property. Electricity and heating Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. Harbour House has been refurbished with new eco-friendly timer/manual overide panel wall heaters. Linen and towels Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. Other provisions A small selection of teas, coffee and sugar are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. There may be other non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs/spices available. A Henry Hoover and cleaning materials such as washing up liquid and surface cleaner will be present in the property. Toilet rolls are provided for your stay. Parking A designated car parking space is available for one car. A large private (pay and display) car park is within a short distance for additional vehicles. Outside the property Harbour House has a balcony with a bistro table and garden chairs for you to sit, relax and watch harbour life (accessed via the sitting room). Dogs Up to 2 well behaved dogs are welcome for a supplement of £20 per dog (strictly 2 dogs maximum per booking). Please follow our dog house rules, cleanliness after walks, bring your own dog beds/blankets/towels etc and keep them off the furniture and beds please. Smoking Harbour House is strictly non-smoking. Arrival and departure The property will be ready from 4 pm on the day of your arrival. Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests. Changeover days Harbour House is available for weekly breaks during peak periods and short breaks are available at other times. We have opened up the booking calendar to accommodate varying lengths of stay and check-in/departure-days at off-peak times. If you cannot get the dates you want, please email your request.

We are dog friendly and Porlock Weir is super dog friendly with great walks and two dog toilet bins on site! Up to 2 well behaved dogs welcome. Please bring your own dog bedding, towels, wipes, food etc. Optional stair gates are on site to restrict access from the lower floor to the upper floor bedrooms.

The region
+ MoreHarbour House is situated in the middle of Porlock Weir on the stunning Exmoor coast. Nearby are popular local restaurants Locanda on the Weir, The Porlock Weir Hotel, The Ship pub (all dog-friendly) and a range of small independent shops such as Porlock Oysters, Ziangs Thai Tak...eaway, Exmoor Glass and a Blacksmith. The village of Porlock is approximately 1.5 miles from Harbour House and boasts three pubs, two grocery shops, a traditional local butcher, pharmacy, Post Office, cash machine, garage, hardware shop, visitor centre and a range of independent shops and tea rooms. Many of the shops in Porlock Weir and Porlock are open during traditional hours of 9 am to 5 pm, although hours are often extended during the summer season. Conversely, some shops also reduce their opening hours out of season. Minehead is the nearest town, approximately 7 miles from Harbour House. Here you will find the larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Lidl, Tesco and Morrisons are both situated on the outskirts of the town and have longer opening hours), most major high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops throughout the town.
Food and drink is available from The Porlock Weir Hotel (check out the Apres Ski outside bar for freshly made pizza), The Ship Pub, Locanda, Ziangs Thai Takeaway (seasonal) and delicious ice-creams from Harbour Stores only next door. Porlock Village is only 1.5 miles away and has pubs, hotels, restaurants, cafes and tearooms.
Harbour watch from your own balcony or the many viewpoints outside, walk over the bridge to explore Turkey Island with the stunning cottages or set up on the pebble beach for a paddle, picnic or swim. If you're active or have children you won't run out of fun things to do, walking, hiking, cycling, kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, beachcombing, crabbing (buckets and lines for sale at Harbour Stores next door) and sightseeing. Explore and enjoy the stunning pebble beach on our doorstep and walk over to Turkey Island. Hikers and walkers can explore the many coastal and inland walks available on this beautiful Exmoor coast.
