Coachman's Quarters, part of Lynton Cottage Seaview Apartments, is a charming dog-friendly self-catering apartment in Lynton, North Devon. It's perfect for couples and their furry friends, serving as a great base for exploring Exmoor National Park, the North Devon coast, Valley of the Rocks, and National Trust Watersmeet. This apartment spans three floors. You'll enter the top-floor sitting room, bright and spacious with a high vaulted ceiling, comfy sofa, smart TV, and an electric wood-burner. Descend to the 1st floor, housing a well-presented double bedroom with a king-sized bed and a bathroom with a large walk-in shower, washbasin, and WC. A spiral staircase leads to the kitchen on the ground floor. This cosy countryside kitchen includes a washer/dryer, fridge/freezer, electric oven with hob, microwave, and dining area for two. There's also a ground floor cloakroom for hanging coats and boots. The highlight is the private terrace, accessible from the living room or entrance gate, with outdoor furniture for relaxing and enjoying breath-taking coastal views over the ocean towards Countisbury. Please note that Coachman's Quarters may not be suitable for everyone due to accessibility issues inside and out, including a sloped road to the entrance gate, steps to the apartment, and two flights of stairs inside, including a spiral staircase.

Second Floor - Lounge The apartment is accessed through the living room on the top (2nd) floor, where you'll find a cosy sofa, a wall-mounted smart TV, and an electric wood-burning stove. At the top of the stairs leading to the second floor, there is a fixed stairgate for safety. First Floor - Bedroom & Bathroom On the first floor, you'll discover a spacious, tastefully decorated king-size bedroom at Coachman’s Quarters. Adjacent to the bedroom, you'll find the main shower room, which is equipped with a walk-in shower, a WC, and a washbasin. Ground Floor - Kitchen/Dining & WC Situated on the ground floor, the well-appointed kitchen can be accessed either from the first floor via the spiral staircase or from the outside. The kitchen is equipped with various appliances, including a fridge/freezer, a microwave, a washer/dryer, and an electric oven with a hob. Additionally, there's a dining table for two. Also on the ground floor, there's a separate cloakroom with a washbasin and WC, as well as a designated area for hanging coats and storing boots.

Many guests find the private terrace at Coachman's Quarters to be the standout feature. It offers breathtaking ocean views towards Countisbury, making it the perfect spot for leisurely summer evenings, complete with a table and chairs. Please be aware that the terrace is accessible from both the living room and the apartment's entrance gate, which is securely locked. However, it's important to note that the terrace is not entirely dog-proof. Therefore, if you have four-legged companions, please ensure they are on a lead while on the terrace or under supervision.

+ MoreLynmouth is a very special place to visit; the spectacular coastline and deeply cut river valleys in this unique area provide wonderful opportunities for walking; the South West Coast Path, the Two Moors Way and the Coleridge Way are good examples. The famous Watersmeet House is ...not far up the valley road, a beautiful National Trust tea garden situated at the meeting of the East Lyn River and Hoar Oak Water. The famous Valley of Rocks is a short walk out of Lynton. If this isn't enough, sandy beaches can be found within a delightful scenic drive. Lynmouth has a good choice of gift and art shops etc, pubs and restaurants all within a few minutes' walk. The twin village of Lynton is perched on the hill above Lynmouth, and is accessed via road, footpath or the famous funicular railway for food shopping. Lynton also has a range of tea shops, restaurants, a small cinema, as well as tennis and bowls facilities. The larger towns of Minehead and Barnstaple are approximately 17 and 20 miles away respectively, where you will find the larger supermarkets, high street banks, etc. There are plenty of attractions nearby, such as the steam railway at Woody Bay, the National Trust's Arlington Court and Dunster Castle, Exmoor Zoological Park, Watermouth Castle and The Big Sheep. There are a number of riding stables if you choose to explore Exmoor on horseback, or wildlife safaris in a 4x4 to view and learn about this beautiful area. Boat trips are available in season to see the coastal seabirds and mammals or to visit the stunning Lundy Island.
There are a number of cafes, restaurants and pubs in Lynmouth itself. In Lynton, there are cafes, restaurants, pizzarias, pubs, local food shops and a delicatessen. Larger supermarkets can be found at Minehead, Ilfracombe and Barnstaple. Out and about, there are plenty of pubs nearby serving good food, such as The Blue Ball at Countisbury, The Rockford Inn at Rockford, The Stag Hunters' Inn at Brendon, Hunters' Inn near Heddons Mouth, The Tarr Inn at Tarr Steps and the Black Venus, Challacombe. There are also plenty of cafes in the local area, serving local food and wonderful afternoon teas.
The area is very good for walking and cycling and Lynmouth is known for its good surf. The pebble beach is great for rock pooling and crabbing. There are sandy beaches a little further afield, including the award winning beaches at Ilfracombe. There are a number of horse riding stables, tennis courts and swimming pools nearby. Pretty Exmoor villages are well worth exploring. Clovelly is an unspoilt fishing village used as the location in a number of films and television programmes. The Doone Valley is home to the famous Robber's Bridge and St Mary's Church at Oare, made famous by RD Blackmore's novel "Lorna Doone". Allerford, Bossington, Porlock and Porlock Weir, are pretty villages with lovely places to pause for refreshment, close to the salt marshes with its abundant birdlife. Wimbleball Lake offers sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, walking and bird watching. There are a number of gardens to visit and while away the day such as RHS Rosemoor, Greencombe Gardens, Marwood Hill Gardens and Hartland Abbey.
There are many local walks, ranging from a couple of miles to day-long hikes. There are stunning coastal, river valley and moorland routes from the doorstep, or just a short drive away. There is a pebble beach at Lynmouth; there are sandy beaches at Ilfracombe and further along the coast.
