Little Wing has a real personality - warm terracotta walls, a chunky inglenook fireplace, exposed stone and pine, and artwork throughout that gives the place a creative, bohemian feel. It's the kind of space that invites you to slow down and relax! There is a pretty patio area by the front door; the terrace catches the sun and looks out over the wooded hillside. The entrance door opens directly into the main living room, which centres on the large inglenook with log burner. A small dining table by the window seats two, looking out to the valley. To the rear of the ground floor, the kitchen is neatly fitted under the stairs with a breakfast bar for two. Upstairs, the double bedroom has pine floorboards, and leafy views through the window. The bathroom is on the first floor also. A second outside seating area is located at the bottom of the garden area, beside/above the road - a sheltered spot with a further table and chairs. Immediately outside the front door there is a patio area with rattan seating and a chiminea for evenings, it's a sheltered sun-trap enclosed by stone walls and planting. There a second, lower patio at the foot of the steps at the front of the property with table and chairs - a good spot to sit and watch the valley go by. The cottage sits above Lynbridge Road with the West Lyn River running alongside the road below, close enough to hear from the cottage. Wooded hillsides rise steeply on both sides, and it's a genuinely quiet stretch of valley despite the short walk into Lynton.

The region
+ MoreLynton is a charming cliff-top village perched 600 feet above the sea on the northern edge of Exmoor National Park, often called 'Little Switzerland' for its dramatic scenery. Connected to its twin village of Lynmouth on the harbour below by the famous Lynton and Lynmouth Cliff ...Railway -- a Victorian water-powered funicular opened in 1890 -- Lynton sits at the meeting point of four long-distance trails: the South West Coast Path, the Two Moors Way, the Coleridge Way, and the Tarka Trail. The poets Shelley, Coleridge, and Wordsworth all drew inspiration from these steep wooded valleys and rugged coastline. The village has a good range of independent shops, cafes, restaurants, and pubs, all within a few minutes' walk. There is a small cinema, a post office, a pharmacy, and tennis and bowls facilities. The spectacular Valley of Rocks lies just a mile to the west along a level clifftop path. Lynmouth, reached by the cliff railway, road, or footpath, adds harbourside dining, boat trips, and the Glen Lyn Gorge. The nearest supermarkets and high street banks are in Barnstaple, approximately 20 miles away. Ilfracombe and Minehead are each roughly 20 miles in opposite directions along the coast. Exmoor is an International Dark Sky Reserve, making Lynton an exceptional base for stargazing on clear nights.
