Our local pub, that offers Thai food - both as a restaurant and takeaway service. If you like Thai food, it’s a pretty good option! Only about a 5-10 minute walk from the house. Walk down towards the village green, turning left on the main village street. Then take the right at the small grassy triangle, follow that road for 5 minutes and you will spot the pub on your right.

Riverbank Garden Centre, Stedham
For coffee, lunch, or afternoon tea, the Green House cafe is a great spot - home produced, tasty food owned and run by a young local husband and wife team.

The Elsted Inn
A nice country pub offering tasty sandwiches and salads, as well as hearty meals; everything is prepared with local ingredients and there are vegetarian options on the menu. Families and dogs are welcome. To find the pub, head west along the A272 and then take the first left. You will reach the pub within a few minutes along this road.

For a change in scenery, why not explore our magnificent coastline? Take to a boat to discover the delights of Chichester Harbour or investigate the RSPB nature reserves around West Wittering Beach, Selsey and Bracklesham Bay.

Goodwood events;
Thrill at the thunder of hooves, the roar of engines and incredible aerial displays at one of Goodwood’s many internationally-renowned events. There’s the Festival of Speed, Goodwood Revival and Glorious Goodwood to name just a few - all less than 20 minutes away.

Towns to visit:

Head to Petworth and delight in Petworth House’s outstanding collection of Old Masters, then wander around the glorious gardens and the Deer Park before discovering the many antique shops and independent retailers for which Petworth is so well-known. The property also hosts regular events and activities for adults and children alike.
The town is also home to many independent retailers, food businesses and cafés and there’s a lively cultural scene too. The Petworth Festival in mid-summer which offers a wealth of events and the Literary Festival in November is a must for book-lovers.

The City of Chichester, shaped by its unique heritage, is made for exploring. Blending old and new, Chichester offers an enticing mix of designer label boutiques, high street shopping, renowned art galleries and stylish restaurants and contemporary cafes.

Nearby Arundel, with its impressive medieval castle and delightful riverside pubs makes for another fascinating day-trip. Its mix of art galleries, restaurants, independent shops and country leisure pursuits, creates a chic, historic town set to please all ages.

There is a footpath that passes in front of the house - head straight out to the field, our favourite spot! The footpath technically passes diagonally across the field, many people walk around the whole field, just make sure you pick up after your dog if you have one. 
There are plenty of walks around, many people come here especially for the good walking…

The Iping and Stedhams Common is a beautiful heathland with a network sandy heathland paths and woodland tracks. Park in the Iping and Stedham Commons car park. Heading west out of Midhurst on the A272, take the third turning on the left towards Elsted. The car park is quarter of a mile on the right

West Wittering Beach is a beautiful sandy beach about 35 minutes away
