Bridlecott is a self-catering cottage situated in the charming village of Monksilver on the edge of Exmoor National Park, also just a short distance from the Quantocks, with The Coleridge Way passing by and only a few miles to the coast as well. This self-contained cottage sleeps up to 4 guests.
Bridlecott, in the village of Monksilver, has been fitted with modern appliances to make your stay as relaxing and comfortable as possible. Downstairs is an open-plan living space comprised of comfortable seating area with TV (with free-sat), dining table and chairs and kitchen. The bathroom is downstairs and is fitted with a shower cubicle and bath. Upstairs is a spacious double bedroom with king-sized bed. There is a second bedroom with twin beds, which is accessed via the master bedroom. The property is perfectly suited to couples or small families looking for a place to stay in this lovely quiet village. The drive is shared with the owners property next door. Sorry, no dogs in Bridlecott. Bridlecott is strictly non-smoking. The property will be ready from 4 pm on the day of your arrival. Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests. Changeover days Bridlecott is available for week-long bookings and short breaks. Changeovers on Mondays and Fridays

Bridlecott has modern conveniences including dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric double oven and hob. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. A television (with Freesat), DVD player, CD player and music system is provided in the living room and wireless broadband is available throughout the property. There are two further TVs upstairs in the bedrooms. An iron and ironing board are provided for your convenience, as well as a clothes airer. Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. Bridlecott has electric heating. Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. A small amount of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. There may also be other non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available. Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets/powder and surface cleaner will be present in the property. One or two toilet rolls will be provided.

To the rear of the property is a large garden which is shared with the owner who lives in the adjacent property. Bridlecott has an outlook towards thatched cottages to the front and Combe Sydenham Deer Park is to the rear of the property. There is a large garden and provide a cricket set and a badminton set etc. for children.

+ MoreThe Coleridge Way is a quill-marked walk of 51 miles between Nether Stowey and Lynmouth, whcih passes nearby to Bridlecott and enjoys glorious scenery, crossing both the Quantock Hill and Exmoor. The village of Monksilver provides excellent access to Brendon Hills and Exmoor N...ational Park and is also close to the coast. There is plenty to do for walkers, tourists and families alike: Why not visit Cleeve Abbey (2.7 miles), the historic house of Coombe Sydenham (0.25 miles), or Dunster Castle and its historic village (7.9 miles). You could plan a ride on the West Somerset Steam Railway ….. or visit Europe’s first International dark sky reserve at the Stargazing Dark Sky Reserve. With such a wonderful natural environment this is also a great place for enjoying the great outdoors! There are many beaches in the area where visitors may enjoy swimming, kite flying, windsurfing, or simply relaxing with a bucket and spade. Exmoor National Park also hosts the Exmoor Cycle Route and Exmoor Forest which is a former royal hunting ground, where horse riders can experience some of the best riding in the country. Amenities: The village of Monksilver has it's own pub called The Notley Arms which also serves food, this within easy walking distance of Bridlecott. There is a village shop, Post Office and pub in the village of Stogumber, which is 2 miles away. There is also The Bicknoller Inn, which serves good food and is family friendly, just 3.5 miles from the property. The nearest town is Williton, which is which is 3 miles from Bridlecott. There are two small supermarkets in Williton, a petrol station, cash machines, local restaurants and a couple of take-away outlets, a hardware store, butchers, pharmacy, etc. Minehead is approximately 10 miles from the property. Here you will find the larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Tesco and Morrison's are both situated on the outskirts of the town), most major high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops throughout the town. Taunton is the county town of Somerset and is approximately 14 miles from Monksilver. Tesco and Sainsbury's both delivery grocery shopping to this area.
