The Stable Block offers comfortable accommodation for couples seeking a luxurious getaway, just a stone's throw from beautiful Porlock Weir. This cottage boasts a fabulous bedroom from where you admire the wonderful views of the terrace, garden and Porlock Bay from the juliette balcony.
Downstairs an open-plan living and kitchen area provides a range of modern conveniences to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There is a dining table for meals, although you may choose to take advantage of the views and eat outdoors during the summer months. The Stable Block kitchen is fitted with dishwasher, fridge-freezer, electric combi-oven/microwave and ceramic hob. Other equipment includes toaster, kettle, cafetiere, a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. Note, the kitchen was refitted in 2020 and there is no washing machine now. A television (with Netflix), and CD player is provided in the living room and wireless broadband is available throughout the property. (Does not include DVD player, June 2023) Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The Stable Block has underfloor heating which is controlled by a thermostat and can be adjusted to suit your preferences. There is also a wood burner in the living area; kindling, matches and one basket of logs will be provided. Additional logs can be purchased from the hardware shop in Porlock. Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips. A small amount of tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits are provided to ensure you can have a hot drink as soon as you arrive. There may also be other non-perishable items like a salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available. Cleaning materials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, and surface cleaner will be present in the property. One or two toilet rolls will be provided.

The Stable Block and The Coach House (another holiday property next door, sleeps 2) share a private garden. There is a table and chairs in the garden (down a few steps) for guests. As The Coach House has its owner's private decking area, the guests who choose The Stable Block tend to have the garden themselves. There are two patio terrace areas where you can sit to enjoy the view.

+ MoreThe harbour is the 'centre' of Porlock Weir, which is less than 1/4 mile from The Stable Block. There are two restaurants (The Cafe and Miller's at the Anchor), a pub (all three are dog-friendly) and a range of individual shops such as tea rooms, Exmoor Glass, etc. The villa...ge of Porlock is approximately 1.5 miles from The Stable Block and boasts three pubs, two grocery shops, a traditional local butcher, chemist, cash machine, hardware shop, visitor centre and a range of independent restaurants, shops and tea rooms. Many of the shops in Porlock Weir and Porlock are open during traditional hours of 9 am to 5 pm, although hours are often extended during the summer season. Conversely, some shops also reduce their opening hours out of season. Minehead is the nearest town, approximately 7 miles from The Stable Block. Here you will find the larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Tesco and Morrison's are both situated on the outskirts of the town and have longer opening hours), most major high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops throughout the town.
