Hartford Cottage, West Anstey (Devon) is a private, luxury holiday cottage for 2, set within a larger estate of Deer's Leap, a former sheep farm now run as exclusive holiday cottages and wedding venue. West Anstey sits just on the edge of Exmoor National Park in a delightful part of North Devon with rolling hills. Hartford Cottage is well-suited to couples looking for a 'get away from it all' break, as well as walkers and cyclists. The open-plan living area is built for two and has a fresh and airy feel. The double bedroom is at the far end of the property, and has a king-sized bed. The bathroom comprises a bath, separate shower, hand basin and toilet. The kitchen includes an electric oven with hob, microwave, fridge (with freezer compartment?), slimline dishwasher, electric kettle and toaster. Wifi, heating and electricity is included. Heating is provided by.... which can be adjusted to suit your preferences. Bed linen and towels are provided for the property, please bring own towels for the hot tub. Cot and highchair available on request? Welcome pack(?)... The property will be ready from 4 pm on the day of your arrival. Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests.

Private Guests at Hartford Cottage enjoy their own Jacuzzi area directly outside the property, this area is private and enclosed. There's also an outside table and chair for dining al fresco in the warmer months. Shared The grounds surrounding the property includes a lake with carp, an all-weather tennis court, there’s also a games room with a pool table, table tennis and darts, which guests are welcome to enjoy and make use of, but these are shared facilities with the other holiday cottages nearby. Deer's Leap is a farm with animals, ponies, chickens, sheep, cows and a beagle called Poppy. Surrounding Area Exmoor itself is one of England’s, largely undiscovered treasures. There are miles of walks through pretty villages with quaint tea shops and country pubs by rivers, ancient woodland, breathtaking views across open moorland of the majestic red deer and Exmoor ponies and some of the country’s most stunning coastal paths and beaches. If however, what you crave is a holiday of sheer pampering, then rest assured, you needn’t even leave the house! Hartford Cottage is semi-attached to the Main Farmhouse accommodation. 5 Bell Tents are situated around 100 yards from Hartford cottage, set up in their own area. Owners live on site. Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement (maximum of 2). A supplementary fee of £15 will be added to your invoice per dog. + MoreWest Anstey sits just outside the southern boundary of Exmoor National Park in North Devon. Dulverton (in Somerset) is approx 5 miles (15 minutes drive). It is a beautiful town on the banks of the River Barle, known as the southern gateway to Exmoor and it is also home to the h...ead quarters of the Exmoor National Park. Dulverton is well equipped with shops including Post Office, butchers, bakery, fish & chip shop, greengrocer, late-opening supermarket, art gallery, hairdressers, guns and fishing tackle shop. There are also a number of quality boutiques, interesting gift shops plus a handful of lovely restaurants, tea rooms and pubs. South Molton is around 10 miles away and is an interesting and lively country town, with a good selection of shops and pubs. Thursdays and Saturdays are market day with a local market in the historic Pannier Market hall, as well as a busy livestock market. Barnstaple is the regional centre for North Devon and offers a more comprehensive selection of commercial, retail and leisure facilities, the famous Pannier Market and Butchers Row is worth a visit– excellent for both meat and locally caught fish. Exmoor provides a great base for walking, cycling, horse riding and exploring. There are also opportunities to play golf at the famous Saunton Sands Golf Course or to visit a number of outstanding gardens such as those at Marwood and RHS Rosemoor. It is also the place for anyone who just wants to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the North Devon countryside. West Anstey is within easy reach of Tarr Steps, The Chains - a wonderful place for the experienced walker, the Tarka Trail, the North Devon coastal path, Woody Bay and the Valley of the Rocks as well as Lynton and Lynmouth. The beaches of Saunton, Croyde and Woollacombe are less than an hour away. There are a number of local National Trust properties nearby including Knightshayes, Dunster Castle and Arlington Court.

The North Devon coast is popular with surfers and we are not far from the River Exe and River Barle, which are both popular for kayaking. Dulverton, and Exmoor in general have amazing gastro pubs and teashops. There is a chance that guests may sight, buzzards, red deer and Exmoor ponies. This is a great countryside for walking, biking, riding and wildlife lovers.
